oh, hi

so it's been about 4-5 months or so, but we finally put up a new page of tom's comic! (we've been busy, ok?) the next couple pages are soo close to being done, too. yay!

in other news, we got a kitten! her name is soju.i know. she's totally adorable.

meet the swans

finally put up a new page of the comic. we had some issues with trying to figure out the layout, but i think this page came out pretty well.

here are a couple more paintings tom did last week.

before and after

i decided to show a before and after picture to show why sometimes it takes a week or longer to post a new page. this isn't our full time job (ohhh, i wish it was though!) and so we don't work on it as much as we'd like to. and even when we do, we need a break from doing so many touch ups. it seems never ending at times. anyway, the above is after.


and this is the before. when we first started posting these pages online, we didn't really care about all the black dots and white spaces. but after i had it printed, we found some mistakes on some pages. and then we decided to go back and really fix it all up. we're still working on fixing the old pages. tom just finished working on page 18. i think a lot of it is stuff only we'll notice, but it really does make a difference. we keep clicking back and forth to see what it used to look like and i think it's worth it. better be!

i've learned a lot of different short cuts since i started helping tom w/this comic, but they're not short enough! the little black and white dots haunt me whenever i close my eyes!! we've had to get his pages scanned at kinkos since their too big for our scanner. but the last batch we got scanned, we found that there aren't that many black dots, which is good (tried to erase the pencil marks better this time)... but they're filled with teeny tiny white dots in ALL of the black lines. it seriously gives me the shivers just thinking about it. we may need to go back and get them re-scanned.

anyway, a new page is up. it took tom a few hours today just re-drawing the chains. i'll start the next page tomorrow.

still coloring, always coloring

yes, we're still working on the comic. see!



there's tom and pity bear coloring on the computer. we're working on a project that is taking a lot of our time. hopefully, we'll finish this weekend. and thennnn, we'll work on the next page of the comic. keep reading because it's going to get better. expect a lot more violence to come, yeah!!

girl talk

tom's been working on some bonus pages to add to his comic. it'll mainly just be the girls talking about nothing, borrowing my style of drawing (big heads and no eyes) and making them super cute! look for more pages like this soon.

printed!

for tom's birthday, i had the first 29 pages of his comic printed. it's really exciting to see it in book form! i only had 4 printed since i wasn't sure how it was going to look. we found a couple touch ups that needed to be done. we're actually going to go back to each page and really touch up everything. i've only done the first page so far. work on the cover some more, possible title change?? and then we're going to print more in grayscale. i don't know if we'll use the same people. kinda expensive, but the quality is pretty nice.

after school special

tom's comic is online! there isn't a set schedule for when new pages are uploaded. twice a week usually? it takes a long time for us to color each page. i've only put up half up of what tom has drawn so far. he's inking a page right now! so do check often, k??
